Buy this to get a discount on that

I dislike this new DAZ sales gimmick of requiring customers to buy one product in order to get a discount on other products. The amount of game playing and manipulation being used in DAZ sales promotions is getting downright ridiculous. I wanted to buy Stonemason's Modular Ruins, but in order to qualify for the full discount, I need to buy a total of three ruins sets. This isn't an option for me since I already own all of Stonemason's previous ruins sets. Consequently, I didn't buy anything. I don't shop here nearly as much as I used to.

    It does make it harder to get precisely the thing you wanted, and makes returning something difficult if you got a discount for two or more..

    It's only normal for there to be incentives to buy additional items in a series. By offering discounts for people who buy other products, they're doing a service to those of us who want to fill our collections. If you don't qualify for the discount, there's nothing stopping you from buying it at its normal retail price since they haven't raised the price on the product just for the sale.

    Stop and think about this for a second. Would you be complaining if the item in question wasn't in the sale at all? Probably not. Regardless of where you go, sales are designed to make people buy more products. It's simple business 101. It's the psychology of making you realise you can afford that little bit extra to buy multiple products when you would otherwise have spent considerably less on just the one.

    People have been doing it since the dawn of the economy. I don't see a reason to break out the pitchforks and torches just yet.

    Agree with HeraldOfFire. Many big businesses do it and here at DAZ, there are always so many newbies coming in that need those things, they are helping those folks. And besides, they offer those same products again in a different sale, different way, if you just wait a month or so. And you should always put stuff in your cart and test it anyway- many glitches occur. Just this past week it said you had to buy the featured product to get 50% off blah blah blah and it was already 50% off.

    I do understand your frustration though, you want to just buy what you want and not something you don't need- but if you can just sit tight and work on different renders, those products will come back on sale :)
