Problem with Iray - transition between solid and transparent object

Hi,
I've tried to make a scene with a character (G8F) trapped inside a block of a semi-transparent substance, but when I render it seems Iray cannot make a decent transistion between the solid body and the transparent block. The render always shows up with a line of invisible dots along the transitions. I've tried to make the block a variety of substances (water, ice, wax, rubber, etc) but with the same result each time.
The attached image is a cutout of the whole render (it's kinda explicit :O) but you can see the white line of transparent dots.
Does anyone know how to fix this or why it's happening? It does not occur if the block is solid.

To me that looks like reflection/refraction and it could also be that the light is too bright.
I tried to turn light intensity way down, and I also tried to turn down enviroment intensity and enviroment map. It got a bit better but not quite. Then I tried to remove all lighting and the enviroment map, and the problem is almost gone, but I can still see a tiny line in the transition areas...
