Exclude an object from a distant light?

edited December 1969 in Daz Studio Discussion

I have a distant light in the scene that I don't want to effect the skydome at all. Is it possible to exclude the skydome from the light? Its blowing out the skydome texture on one half.

Thanks.

    Nope but tty this.

Select the Skydome and in the Surfaces Pane put the skydome texture map in to the Ambient Colour Channel and set it to White at 100% now the lighting shouldn't effect the sky dome.

Thanks for the suggestion. If I scale down intensity of the distant light, or even turn it off, the sky remains lit perfectly, but it doesn't seem to prevent it from being blown out by the addition of light. Hmmmm...

What Still after doing what I suggested?

Try Adjusting the Diffuse strength to 0% keeping the map in place and the adjustments I suggested above.
