What do I need to take a morphed figure from M4 to G2/3?

Hi everyone,

I have an M4 figure based on Jepe's Rodan 2.0 with a couple of other M4 morphs applied. I'd like to move it across to either G2 or G3 where there are more clothes and the like. What do I need to do to transfer the morphed figure and its textures to Genesis?

I'm guessing I'm going to need to spend some money in the Daz Store!

To convert M4 morphs to newer figures:

GenX2 base program will convert from M4 to Genesis 1: https://www.daz3d.com/genesis-generation-x2

For M4 to G2M you need to GenX2 and the G2 add-on: https://www.daz3d.com/genx2-addon-for-genesis-2

For M4 to G3M you need GenX2 and both the G2 add-on and the G3 add-on: https://www.daz3d.com/genx2-addon-for-genesis-3

 

To use M4 textures on newer figures:

on Genesis 1: no need to purchase anything, M4 UVs are included by default.

on G2M: https://www.daz3d.com/michael-4-for-genesis-2-male

on G3M: https://www.daz3d.com/legacy-uvs-for-genesis-3-michael-4

on G8M: https://www.daz3d.com/legacy-uvs-for-genesis-8-michael-4

I'm curious, are these extra morphs from the morph dials?  It's been my experience with GenX2 that not all morphs from dials will transfer, because G3 may not have the same morph dials. 

My only success has been to convert the individual morphs (in my case, G1's DD Resource - Ears), and then I can apply those to G3 after the transfer.

Unfortunately, the PA who created GenX2, Dimension3D, has passed away, so there is no bridge from G3 to G8 with this product. 

There is a free utility in this thread, but it is recommended that you get some experience with Daz Studio before trying it (it's a use at your own risk item).  Just keep this bookmarked for later use.

Thanks for the extra information. Yes I think all the morphs are via the dials, so I guess there may be some that don't come across properly. I don't know how the morphs for M4 that add a new dial to the Preferences will work - I guess there's only one way to find out!
