Victoria 4 and New My Daz Folder?

Hello, I've installed V4 in my new "My Daz Library" file but I can't find her. I looked under people > characters and there are some of her add-on such as clothing, injects, etc ... listed but even when I search there is no V4 base to load. I've tried my old daz file and she isn't there either or at least not loading in the content preview window.

I just redownloaded her to this morning. Any thoughts?

Thanks

V4 is in Poser format, and you will find her in the Content Library under Poser Formats > My DAZ 3D Library > Figures > DAZ People.

You will also find her int the Smart Content pane under Figures > People > Female, but if you have Genesis selected, you wont see her. Deselct Genesis first, then it should be there.

I installed my V4 using the DIM, and it appears in both Smart Content and the Content Library. You may have to reinstall it.

When you try to load a piece of V4 clothing onto Genesis, the Autofit plugin should pop up, is it doesn't, then make sure that you use 'Fit To' for the clothing item, and that will make Autofit appear. There is nothing extra to be bought to make this work, just make sure that you are using the Pro version, it should say 'DAZ Studio 4.5 Pro' in the title bar. If not, you need to enter your Pro serial number.

Is there something specific I should do in order to be able to find my Gen 4 figures (or any object files at all) in the "Actors, Wardrobe & Props" pane?
I find only the following there:
Anatomy (only the "Foal Horn" maps for Mill Horse 2 foal, labeled "Materials")
Documentation (four hair colors for Wet Hair, labeled "Materials")
Environments (the mat for the big cliff from Park Point Ground, labeled "Materials")
Materials (lots of my goodies here, all labeled "Materials" as expected)
Poses (the hand poses for the Kids 4 Regency, labeled "Materials")
Presets (lots of good stuff, again labeled "Materials")
Props (only the UberVolume Sphere, which is also labeled "Shaders")
Shaders (lots of familiar faces here, and all labeled "Shader")
Themes (bits from the Fantasy Castle, all labeled "Materials" and each thing in duplicate)
I followed the three video tutorials for preparing to use DIM, uninstalled everything first so I could get a fresh start, and then went from there, using DIM to install everything.

Hello Nanstein, I don;t use these tabs at all for anything, so I have no idea what appears in them by default.

I use the Content Library pane to find my content, and sometimes even the Smart Content pane. If you have installed all of your content using the DIM, and you think that some of it is missing, then there are some things to check.

First of all, DIM creates a new folder in Public Documents, the default area is C:\Users\Public\Documents\My DAZ 3D Library, and that should be entered in the Content Directory manager as BOTH a DAZ Studio and Poser Formats library. Make sure that that is the case by going to Edit > Preferences > Contetn Library > Content Directory Manager.

Have a look inside the DIM in the Ready to Install tab to see where the content is being put.

In the Installed tab, select an item, and right click and choose Installed Files, and that will give you a list of what has been installed and where.

    @Nanstein

I just set my GUI to have Actors, Wardrobe and Props, and all of my content shows up there in the Smart Content pane as expected.

Thank you for your quick reply, JimmyC. I appreciate your input so much. Yes, the new folder added by DIM is there, and I double-checked to be sure it is still showing up under both my DS and Poser formats libraries the Content Directory Manager from when I installed DIM and added it there. I've followed your excellent explanation of locating, within DIM, where things will be installed and where they have been installed, and I did notice, under Installed content, the check mark that indicates 'smart' content. If it is 'smart' content, it will certainly show up in the smart pane, I think. I was just surprised to find no objects under "Actors, Wardrobe & Props", since it seemed like the right spot to find them there. Thank you again for your help.

It depemds on how many items you have installed, and what items you have bought. I have loads that I picked up over the years, and as you will see, when I set my Layout to be like yours, I have 1,543 items in Props.

Do you think some of your items have not installed correctly?
