How easy would it be to replace the image on this banner?

Looking at this item. Going to use this and the dynamic Flag.

The flag says easily replace image so that's probably a click in that surfaces - um, image box...color something, but yeah.

This banner, I like the shape and would want to replace those images with my own.

Similar process, easy to do, etc???

    I don't have it but it looks basically like a flat surface you can put any picture on. Should be a snap.

    Do you think I'll be going into the surfaces tab or doing it with a product like...the tattoo one or the other that uses decals. The decal one was awesome. That was a snap. I'd obviously, create my own jpeg banner image and then then simple use the surfaces tab to load that image in the color-picker choice- that replaces the image (usually).

     

    I'm going to buy these tonight before Daz midnight- cause, well, you never know when these deals stop and prices flip.

    It will not be as easy as just putting a new image in the diffuse texture map area, because the maps that come with the product have some unused border area around some edges. Of course, if you don't care whether your image gets partly cropped off, you could do that anyway. If you don't mind editing your image in Photoshop, or the like, to make the image fit within the same area and use the same aspect ratio as the original textures, it will not be very hard.

    I did it in this RRRR contest image a long time ago. See the Skeleton Skunkworks banner in the background. I edited the original texture to add the text.

    Here is another example of a texture I made for the large banner and a render with that texture applied. I took a painting of a flower and put the green border on the edges in Photoshop. I blanked out the black edges the same way the original textures did.

    That is what I will do. Bar. It's either that or go with a decal.

    I'm good with photoshop so I'd rather use that to overcome any issues.

    The diffuse color map is the only one you need to modify. The only other map is the bump map, it it looks pretty generic, I just reused it as is.

    And that image is hilarious. The paper clipping in clever and the story of the image is awesome.

    And you got some "How'd he do that?" stuff going on.

    separate material zone, so its easy to change the diffuse to any image you have.

    Yes it is complicated. That Hyacinth Macaw lives at my local zoo. I think it is a he, although I am a she. I visit him regularly. His name is Thor. He has a companion now named Loki.
