New QUMARION "Humanoid" input device - looks like an artist manequin for 3d model posing

This is interesting, hope it becomes available in other countries. Looks like you can pose it, and it will either create a BVH file or directly manipulate the pose controls in a 3d program. I.e., you move an arm, the arm will move, etc.

I don't speak much Japanese, but bizarrely I found the Japanese version of the site easier to understand. Bad translations aside, it looks like a great piece of kit for posing figures and it doesn't seem like it would need much work to build an interface to use it directly in Daz Studio rather than via a BVH import. Though, at nearly £600 ($900), it's not exactly friendly on the wallet yet.

Very nifty, though I'd be most concerned with durability. Like with anything else, every moving part is a potential point of failure and for the price I'd be worried about it breaking. Still, it looks like a great tool for posing figures.

$900 you think they could make it Blluetooth.

    That's pretty cool.
Hmmm, on my left two manikins (one figure, one hand), on my right a box of electronic components. That might actually be fun to try :P
