I wanted to know what is the best technique to create a character that has his brain exposed?
Ex: Exposed Brain

Tools:
1) Genesis Male
2) The Brain Model

Thanks for the help!

I thought the title said "Exposed BRIAN" and I had to see which nekkid pictures you found of me. LOL. Sorry, couldn't resist, there are no nekkid pictures of me (and the world can breath a sigh of relief).

I can only think of a couple of options, neither being a newbie move. Not assuming you are a newbie, just saying there is no option to hide the top of Genesis skull.

First would be to create a transparency map to hide the top of Genesis head. This would not give you the thickness around the edges that you would want, but it would certainly do the trick in a quick fix.

Second way would be to create a morph, a very extreme morph mind you, to cave in the skull into a recess. ZBrush would be a good tool for that.

Third option would be to define a zone consisting of the head-top geometry and hide that. The group polygon editor would do the trick there.

A D-former on the top of the head should be able to do a nice chainsaw job just as easily.

Yep, that makes 4 options. This is fun. How to best cut off Genesis' head???

Edit : Not sure what and where i clicked, but that went wrong real fast (my post, i mean).

10 seconds in ZBrush (clipcurve ftw :-)), and a few minutes pushing vertices around in Hexagon...

Would smoothing and collision (apply smoothing modifier) help?

    Good thinking there, Kerya.

I set up a cube to collide with a sphere (scaled to an oval shape) and let genesis collide with that cube.
Weird thing is it doesn't spot render ?! Looks perfect in the viewport and in a real render, but a spot render shows genesis head in normal shape. Must have some setting wrong...

A D-Former in Daz Studio will do this nicely as I have done this before. You only need one D-former to do it too.
