Question regarding Rag-erator

Hello -

I'm using Rag-erator, which is a great tool as lon as you want an effect of fabric that is shredded in many places. But the shader seems to lack the ability to produce only one defect in a piece of fabric, such as placing one tear in a canvas tarp in a specific place. Any ideas on this, or am I just missing something?

Thanks!

For one single hole at a specific place I would create a specific transparency map.

  • Thanks... I was afraid of that. So, should the background around the desired hole be all white, or all black?

White = fully opaque, Black = fully transparent. So the hole would be black.

Black for the hole, white is opaque!

  • Thank you, guys!

You also could scavange the opacity maps of Ragerator, copy out the tear you like best and put it on its own transparency map. Of course, that's just valid for your own usage.

Oh, yes... that's my plan. Sorry if I wasn't clear. :)
