merge scenes not import

I want to know if there is a way to merge scenes in Poser as opposed to importing a pz3 file?
the reason is some things do not import that otherwise work when opening the saved scene
my main case being clothified conformed clothing animations and some hair sims.
I wish to build on existing scenes but so far only concurrent saves are possible.
I suspect it is the naming of say sim1 sim2 etc in each scene that might be the issue.
any ideas?
