Clone transform dials?

I just tried cloning transform dials from a node on G3M to the root node, but it didn't work. Does anyone know if this is as it should be, and if there's some way to get this done? It would save me a good bit of time digging down into the hierarchy, since those are the only dials on that figure I routinely need to go digging for.
