Finding Aiko 3/4 realistic under Genesis

Hello there,

I've struggling with that particular problem for long enough to ask for your advice here. How do you access the realistic morphs of Aiko 3 or 4? I usually use Genesis and as I have V4/M4/A4/H4 shapes (they show under shaping panel) and I expected to see both the cartoon Aiko and her nice real counterpart. Frankly, it's her realistic morph I got her for.

I wanted a natural look like this Rani for Aiko 3 LE: http://www.sharecg.com/v/15858/related///. I have A3 base from that Anime Star Fighter Bundle that was free shortly after my first visit (lucky me): http://www.daz3d.com/anime-star-fighter. The figure loads, but I see no options for customization into that natural girl. Is A4 shape for Genesis enough to get it? Or does my A3 from that bundle support such natural characters?

I always wonder how do DAZ artists get those delicate-faced girls like Twinkel or Scotlyn. If A4/H4 shapes for Genesis and A3 from the bundle do not support the realistic morphs, could you tell me what do I need to get myself? I've got V4.2 and her morphs from that Pro Bundle, V5 and, of course, Genesis. My Scotlyn doesn't load properly as if it required BOTH A4 base and V4.2 base (as if A4 shape for Genesis wasn't the full A4 base). She gets big eyes, but not the soft lines and the perky nose. What is going on, I wonder?

The whole system of marking what's required for characters confuses me. If they list A3/A4/V4, do I need each of them or just, let's say, V4 would be enough, but I'd get more developed results with other shapes? It's confusing, because, for instance, Windsong Hair has Reby Sky shape listed as required product, but the hairstyle fits V4, A4 and Genesis even without autofitting it. I'd appreciate some advice if it's possible please.

Regards,
Cecilia

The Aiko 3/4 shapes for Genesis are just the basic shape, they don't include any of the other shapes or morphs I'm afraid. A lot of the shapes in character sets, especially the faces, are custom morphs created in a modelling or sculpting application. You could use Gen X to transfer the older morphs across - note that for Aiko 3 I believe you'd need the extra plugin for that figure.

I see... So it would be wise to get at least the base A4 figure, not the shape? Would this be enough: http://www.daz3d.com/aiko-4-base? It's generally a bit confusing, for example Mila for A3 (http://www.daz3d.com/mila-for-aiko-3) apparently needs A3 Morphs'n'Maps, but othe characters looking very much the same don't. Or at least there's no information about it.

Aiko 4 is an add on fr V4, so it has its shapes but doesn't have a separate set of morphs the way A3 did. A morph pack (Morphs++ etc.) will often be required for the body shape, so that clothes will work with it, while a head shape is more likely to be custom - however there are cases where both head and body use existing morphs, or where both are custom.

To get the realistic shape for Aiko 3; load the Aiko 3 figure; in the Parameters tab, click on the General subtab to list the morphs/shapes available. The realistic morph is the second option

You may need not to get morphs for A3 and A4 or V4 figure.

if you want to use genesis, not need to buy them.
and I do not recommend it.

You may better to serch morphs which made for genesis (or V5). and mix them.

    http://www.daz3d.com/people?cat=1140&compat_figures=28&p=2

take care,, some morphs may need another morph,,
and some character is just preset which change value of other morph . do not have original morph.
and even though the advertize image is so good for you,, it may need the material preset
(some morphs are offered without material,, eg A3 shape for genesis,, A4 shape for genesis)
which vendor used for the image.

so that,,you may better if you find good shape,, ask other user,, how the product work,
and which product need to use all files..

    there are many morphs for genesis (one year before,,, there seems not so many choice ^^;
and I still hope more and more as same as V4 morphs,,,)

the strong point of genesis is easy to customize shape by mixing many character morphs.
and make original shape easy.,, .

    if I were you,, I may correct morphs gradually when get money ^^;

V5 ,>>A5 >> Young teens or Hitomi, (and A3 shape or A4 shape for genesis, which you like)
these morphs can be your base morph.

Thank you for all your tips. However, it seems I'm either missing something or the limited edition doesn't include the morph. Please take a look at the screenshot of my parameters panel. I see no realistic tab at all. What's wrong?

The LE version has very few morphs, yes.

So it turns out I should get myself A4 or at least A3 base. But I cannot understand, it was listed as the base figure - I mean in the bundle when I was purchasing it. Shouldn't they state it's a limited edition and it doesn't support realistic morphs?

The base figures generally don't include more than a handful of morphs -- Hiro is the only 3rd Generation figure base that has the morphs included.

A4 is not the same figure as A3. If you want full A3, you must buy A3, not A4. A3 is a standalone figure, while A4 is dependent on Victoria 4.

There are different generations of figures in DAZ store. The oldest are Millenium 1 and 2, but those are already out of use, although you can still find some items for them in store. MIllenium 3 are Michael 3, Vicky 3, Aiko 3, Hiro 3, David 3 etc. Each is a standalone figure. Then there are the newer Millenium 4 figures. From this generation there are only 2 standalone figures: Michael 4 and Victoria 4. The other Mil. 4 figures (A4, H4 etc) are just sort of add-ons for them and don´t work without them. Then there is the newest figure: Genesis. What is called MIllenium 5 figures (Michael 5, Vicky 5, Aiko 5 etc.) are in fact morphs for Genesis, because Genesis can be changed into anything (man, woman, child, werewolf, gorilla etc.). There are also A3, A4, M4, V4 etc. shapes for Genesis, which are too just morphs for Genesis and don´t have the same features as their Mil.3 and Mil. 4 counterparts.

Thanks a lot. Can you tell me what the product code should be? The installer from that bundle is called "2866_Aiko3Base_1.1_dpc" and "2866_Aiko3MetaData_1.1_ds". Am I right it's the limited edition?

    PS Stating "Aiko3/4", I meant I need either A3 realistic or A4 realistic. I know A3 doesn't require any Victoria figure, but A4 does - V4.2.

No, Morphs and maps is product 2884, that will be the base (LE) figure.

Well, NOW I'm confused :-P. I got Morphs and Maps yesterday and installed it, but the situation did not change. There's still the limited number of parameters to be changed. I install everything into my preset directory (namely c:\users\user\documents\daz 3d\studio\my library). It's where Victoria 4.2 and her morphs++ are, where A3 is and so on. And I didn't get any errors with installing the morphs (I couldn't install A4 in that directory due to "File not found" error). Yet it doesn't show up. Any ideas?

Not being able to install A4 there suggests something isn't being directed to the right location. What is the full path to the ":runtime:libraries:!DAZ:Victoria 4" folder?

Morphs and Maps adds a new figure file, which contains the morphs. Aiko 3 doesn't use the injection system used in later figures, so the original LE figure doesn't get updated.

I have that folder tree listed as follows: c:\users\user\documents\daz 3d\studio\my library\runtime\libraries\!daz\victoria 4\. After that, I only see "Deltas" folder. Well, I tried installing A4 to that folder, but the error keeps popping up. I'm sorry to take your time about it, but I frankly have no idea how to fix it. I read all topics from FAQ and DAZ-Wiki, but it didn't help. According to the articles, everything should be alright. Also, checking the libraries in DS shows V4.2 as it was okay.

I don't know if it helps, but I listed the files that have something to do with morphs. I have V4.2, M4, Young Teens, A5, H5, K4, M5 and V5 from bundles. I got Genesis Evolution: its Body Morphs, Head Morphs and Expressions (especially the last one is cool). I have V4 and M4, H4 and A4, G4 and F4 SHAPES for Genesis and Genesis Creature Creator Bundle. Oh, I don't know if it makes any sense, but speaking of creatures for Genesis, I adore King Kong and Anubis (even though the length of his ears is sheer stupidity ;-)). I try to collect morph packages as my "mentor" advised me to do so in order to have more flexibility in making my own characters. Up to this point, it worked. But now I cannot make use of Gabi and Tori for V5, A4 and that A3 realistic.

I'm very grateful for all the help I got from all of you so far.

You are installing to the path ending at "My Library"?

Yes, I do. It works with everything - except A4, S4 Elite, Gabi and Tori. And V4 Elite morphs didn't want to install. DS version did, though. Maybe somebody could tell me what is their directory for, primo, installing A4 and/or any of the aforementioned files and, secundo, finding A3's morphs in the library. I'd be extremely thankful.
