Surfaces for clothes in Iray.

How to transform with quality a surface made for 3DLight, for Iray. How to create a surface from scratch, from zero to Iray. Where per the texture map, where per the map Bump, where per the displacement map. How to make something of quality for sale. That put an end to my 3D profession. For 4 years I sold my products in my store in Daz3D, I did, 2 very good products and came the Iray. Because of Iray, I could not continue. It's complicated, Daz3D does not teach. No one shares anything they know. Or everyone is lost like me trying to learn. I lost my store on Daz3D for lack of updating for Iray and new products. This occurred not because I did not produce, I had, 6 more clothes prepared, all ready, but without surfaces in Iray, would never be approved. Iray killed my profession, until today I can not create the surface. Can someone help me?

Thank you!!

  • Hello, Roberto. Are you looking for someone to make Iray materials for you, or are you looking for instructions about the shader?

The easiest, fastest way to learn is to buy an Iray cloth shader (maybe one of the inexpensive PC+ ones), and see what map is plugged in where.

There's also tons of threads where people did discuss how to use Iray, and what goes where: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/56788/iray-start-here#latest

http://sickleyield.deviantart.com/journal/Iray-Surfaces-And-What-They-Mean-519346747  is very good, though there were changes again with Dual Lobe recently.

It's not out of lack for information, or unwillingness of people here to help you, you know.

Thanks for everything, you may have saved my career in Daz3D. I do not know yet. I need to study the deviantArt tutorial. That's all I've been looking for for more than two and a half years. Which means each part of the large surface table for Iray. Thank you for your affection and for sharing with me. I will never forget your help! This package that shows the sale is magnificent, but I can not pay for it, it's expensive in dollars, here in Brazil, it costs me, 385% + more value. Impossible to buy it, but thank you.

If I can, to make a surface of good quality, I will produce again if I sell again. My product return to sale, will always have my product for free! Forever!! Hugs.

    Beto.
