Sasquatch - Render looks "smudged"

I have posed and rendered the Yeti LAMH preset that came with the Sasquatch product.

What I noticed is the "smudged" hair (especially around the head / face), where you no longer can distinguish any individual hair-structure, but rather just a grey smudge ...

Does anyone have any clue as to what is causing this ?

Are there any special render settings that have to be considered ?

Cheers,
Andreas

Lower the Shading Rate in the render settings.

Well, that does help (sort of), but does not eliminate the problem.

I even went ahead and tuned it down to 0.01, but still get "smudging" ... and to quote a good friend of mine:

    "That sucketh" :-/

Any other ideas of what else might help ?

I don't mind experimenting with various settings, but I'm lost because I do not understand the problem, only its symptoms.

    Cheers,
    Andreas

What are your pixel samples set to? They also play into how SHARP a image is.

What kind of lighting are you using?
I know I have had issues with garibaldi and lamh hair under certain lights. You may want to look into the LAMH threads to see what the best lighting setup is. I know there was alot of discussion on that.
