New (to me) error trying to conform G2M content to G2M

Just goofing around.

Try #1 - In Carrara, loaded and morphed G2M with 50% wizard character and 50% slapstick character.  Started loading and conforming clothing set called time for school.  Pants loaded and conformed correctly.    Got a strange line 256 error when I tried to conform the shirt to G2M.  The shirt loaded, but would not morph.

Try #2 - In Studio, loaded and morphed G2M as above.  Saved morphed G2M and conforming pants and shirt as scene subset in DUF.  Opened Carrara.  Tried to load the saved DUF version.  Got the same error.

NOTE: Can still load and conform other G2M content.  Seems to be just the shirt for Time for School.

Yes, the shirt for Time for School loads in Carrara.  The error occurs when trying to conform.  The pants do conform in Carrara.  The pant and shirt will conform in Studio.

my 1st guess would be an internal 'name' and internal 'id' arent matching up in the shirt files.
cant remember which reads which now, DS uses 1, CA uses the other.

2nd guess, carrara cant interpret an erc in the shirt.

What about without the shape morphs applied?

In the current give-away-every-four-hours I got Feminine Touch for Genesis, and when I dial those morphs up on my clothes Genesis figure, I don't get error messages, but theclothing only follows for less than an inch or so, then just stops following the custom shape morph. So some morphs just might not have been made the way the official guidelines suggest? Not sure.

limits set on the morph?  maybe change the max?

Seems like a strange error to get with just one item in a larger product package.  Hint.  Hint.

Man, I' be checking my PMs about now.

Hmm.  Could one of the joint control morphs be the issue?

  • MistaraMistara Posts: 38,675

    could!

found ERCs was the problem with loading Krampus in rara.

tried conforming to the Blazer. same error.

tried moving all the morphs out of the data folder.  same error.

tried deleting the shin bones.   same error.

tried removing the modifiers from the duf file.   same error.

proof reading the joints and nodes.  lessee if anything suspicious

for a G2 item, works in DS is frustrating.

should test if there are out-of-range somethings.

    nil pointer

well, conformed g2m to the shirt, no error message.

not ideal, cause the finger tip bones arent in the shirt. selecting finger tips on g2m works.

hazarding a guess, the process to remove the bones after transfering the rigging, resulted in something unfortunate happening.
something ds can ignore, but rara doesnt.
mebbe can fix in a character preset for the shirt ... it has some nice adjustment morphs

    interrestin

before conforming, dragged the shirt to carrara tray, .car file was ~20mb

conformed, the projected morphs ran.  looked at in model room, whole bunch of morphs came over, like 'show yell'.

saved shirt again to carrara tray, this shirt file was ~199mb.

Oh, wow, looks like this is just a bummer.  Thanks for looking.  Haven't had much trouble with stuff for G2.  Maybe something specific to this particular item.  Fingers crossed.

Oh, wow, another amazing detective job.

maybe this one?  but it is to set up rigidity, although discusses using rigidity toignore corrective morphs
