Auto-fit conversion problem in Daz Studio beta 4.5.2.40

edited December 1969 in Daz Studio Discussion

Hi everyone. About the problem:
I want to convert old clothing from V4 to genesis, save it as support asset and use it in Poser.
So in DS 4.5.1.56 i just did usual conversion process and then "Save as> support asset > figure/prop"
then found it in library and create Poser Companion files. done. All works in poser.

With 4.5.2.40 i do the same but get strange result (see attachment)

when i create "wearable preset" it works in poser. But I need to save as Figure asset.
Have anyone encountered same bug?

i'm using older version till the bug is fixed

What settings were you using? Have you reported the issue?

So it's working in DS? Are you saving as a Figure Asset, then saving a wearables preset? I'm not understanding the "when i create “wearable preset” it works in poser. But I need to save as Figure asset." part of the original post.

Ok. Again. This bug appears in DS 4.5.2.40 ( the new BETA update). When I save as Figure asset and then (after creating poser companion files) in Poser conform it to genesis - the bug appears. Non conformed stated is normal, no strange deformations on clothing.

If I save same clothing as wearable preset and confrm it to genesis in poser - all good. (but wearable preset is not what i need)

In DS 4.5.1.56 there's no such bug with saving as Figure asset. Clothes works fine in poser.

My opinion - not sure if the problem really IS in saving. I suspect the problem is in auto-fit convertion.

Well, maybe I just dont know about some changes in workflow but for now it looks like a bug.

Did you install the beta update for the DSOM importer as well as the new version of DS? If nott hat is probably the issue (sorry, I thought of that after I'd logged off for the night).

Yep, Richard. I also thgought so. Updated DSON importer but didn't help. ( BTW Poser Pro SR3.1 just in case. )

I've seen some differences in old version and beta version DUF files somewhere in bone nodes center_point / end_point area. Maybe this is the reason, maybe not. I didnt dig much.

    Also thanks for all replies!

Centre/end point differences could certainly cause that sort of collapse on conforming, though it should be an issue in both Poser and DS then. Is it all clothes or only certain items?

I've converted 3 items to test - all had same bug.
I'd already converted one of those items in DS 4.5.1.56 previously and it worked fine in poser.

Could you list the items? I'll try to have a go at them, if I have them, and see if there's any logic behind the behaviour (assuming it repeats here).

OK, I think I got Horizon when it was a PC item for a day or something - if so I'll give it a try later.
