IRAY does not render my character in the scene, renders only the backdrop image!
Hi All,
I was trying to render one of my DAZ characters posing in front of a backdrop image. When I rendered the scene with IRAY engine, it strangely rendered the backdrop image but my posing figure was absent in the scene, although I could see it within the aspect frame. When I changed my camera perpective then it rendered both my character and backdrop image. After playing with different perspective views, I realized that the engine does not render from particular perpectives especially when your camera position is below the floor looking upwards, or you are rendering the perpective view from the bottom plane (below the floor again). When I render with OpenGL, there is no problem and I could see my figure in the rendered seen for any camera position or perspective view. I was wondering if this is a bug, a rule of perspective or the limitations brought by IRAY render engine ? Thank you for your comments, in advance.

They're the same problem — Iray is a (more or less) realistic renderer, so you can't look through the ground, from either direction. If you go to the Render Settings pane, select Environment and scroll the parameter list all the way down, you can switch Draw Ground from "on" to "off". The backdrop image was showing because it's a special case; since it doesn't really exist as an object in your scene, it renders no matter what.
This was an helpfull advice, thank you!
