I have today downloaded and install the Daz Install Manager but some products which do appear under my current Product Library does not show up when using the Install Manager although some other products does appear.

The ones not appearing on the list of available downloads are any version of Daz Studio up to the latest and Bryce 7 although it is still under the Product Library from where I can download them. Bryce contents I am still in need of as in the past this huge file of more than 600 mb failed time and again. And so also the Genesis essentials (Poser version) due to large sizes. I thought the DIM would help if I try again but it is not showing there between the other products. What can I do to download those via the DIM?

DIM only downloads content, not programs, which is why DS and Bryce will not show up in it.

However The starter essentials and the Bryce Content files should afaik. I can't confirm it for you, as at present I am not using the DIM.

There was a problem downloading large files such as the tryce content some time back, but this was sorted out. When was the last time you tried downloading them?

Genesis Starter Essentials is definitely available through DIM (including the Poser companion files). Bryce content is not currently available in DIM, as far as I can tell...

If you're not seeing the Poser files in DIM, have you configured DIM to install Poser files? Instructions on that are available here: http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/software/install_manager/userguide/configure_install_manager/tutorials/settings_for_install_manager/start (Step 3 of the section called "Set up your Download and Install Locations," in particular).

Bryce, Carrara, Hex and plug-ins aren't currently supported in DIM. Be see if you have Poser files selected to show up click on the cog wheel. When the dialog box opens select the Downloads tab and make sure Poser is selected.

Chohole, thanks for your reply ... I am not quite sure when the last time was when I tried Bryce contents, I think it was earlier this year. All the other files downloaded successfully for Bryce except the contents.

I have find the Genesis Essentials under DIM and downloaded that. But it seems this is only to install the download to the actual programs after download. There is no option to save a copy of the files you have downloaded. Sometimes my computer needs to be formatted. Do I then have to re-download the files again as everything has to be reinstalled? Can't they be stored in some other directories or to keep on disks for later use? I have always saved my files like that so that I have them ready when needed. Downloading is really a pain with my very slow internet connection. But I must say, DIM downloaded much faster than my actual speed on the file I have downloaded today at about 80kb per sec where normally it is only between 20-30 kb per second.

Thank you also for the replies of the other people, I do appreciate your help! :)

Laura, I just checked the date on my successful (eventually) download and it was in March, halfway through March. So if you think you may have tried downloading it before then, it may be worth trying again, as long as you have cleared your browser cache so no previous attempts to download are still in the cache. THat is always an essential step when a download has failed, clear the failed file from the cache, as it will make subsequent attempts to fail as well.

You can set whether you'd like DIM to delete the installer files or not. Click on the "Ready to Install" tab and find the "Delete Installer Once Installed" checkbox near the bottom of the pane. See this screenshot.

Chochole, thank you for the tip on the cache clearing. I would never thought of this. I have learned something new now as I have never knew about caches and such, never too old to learn! Maybe all that is lying in the cache which I never cleared could be the problem with my poor computer running so slow! I am missing my son-in-law now as he is the computer literate one! :)

Yes Cache should be cleared very regularly, temp internet files should be cleared regularly and even cookies deleted regularly, although with that it is sometimes better to delete manually, as long as you know the ones that you need for your active log ins and can keep them. However even cookies I will sometimes clear completely from time to time and suffer through having to re log in on my normally active log ins.
