Question about interactive licenses....

Several questions about interactive licensing:
1 Are interactive licenses needed for VR as well as gaming?
2. And if so, talking about VR only, what if the objects are static and cannot be interacted with, but just viewed?
3. And also re: VR, if interactive licenses are needed, what is the cost for each plain Genesis generation with my own skin and original morphs?
4. Also what if you have flat rendered and Photoshopped images (jpgs) in a VR environment, like in a gallery or slideshow or something...?
Thanks for official Daz replies...

If you are creating something that contains the 3D model or texture data, you need an interactive license. If you are only distributing rendered images or movies, you don't, even if they are meant to be viewed in VR.
The interactive license for the base figures looks to be usually $100, back to Genesis 1 is the same. You can search starter essentials in the store to find them. https://www.daz3d.com/genesis-8-starter-essentials
EDIT: DAZ doesn't do "official replies" here usually, you have to put in a ticket. Moderators have made statements on the EULA that later proved to be wrong. Putting in a ticket is the only way to get an "official" response on license that I know of.
Thanks agent unawares, but the starter essentials seems to be for the whole package, not Genesis without skin alone...
I'd suggest asking via customer service, as suggested; we really can't answer it as well as they could.

That's the only way to buy a license for the base figure, it's only "sold" as "essentials" bundled with DS.
Huh, so technically you can use everything in the bundle for one price...?
Yep.
I really wish I had purchased the discontinued indie license earlier. I still think they should have different prices for indie vs pro...
I think they should, too, but such is life. I got lucky and snatched the indie license the very last time it was discounted. Even though I don't know if I'll ever make anything that will use it, I've always been interested in the idea of making VR worlds to just chill out in and wander around. And there happens to be a lot of really nice DO scenery.
Yes! I'm obsessed with VR! And I like it, as you do as an experiential thing, rather than just gaming. I've been to around five VR networking events/parties just in the last month. The problem is, investors are betting on AR getting big before VR, so they are investing very little now in VR. But I think as soon as high end computers become cheaper when even higher end ones come in, it will be more affordable for the general public to have VIVEs or Oculuses... But an expert in the field predicts Apple will come out with an AR headset, not a VR one, so iPhone users can't even get a Gear-like experience, which sucks...
