Do clothes, poses, and hair designed to Michael 3 and 4 or Victoria 3 and 4 - work with Michael 5 and Victoria 5?

Are there compelling reasons to upgrade to 5?

Generation 4 clothes and hair work with Generation 5.
Generation 3 clothes and hair works if you buy the Gen3 Iconic shapes.
Generation 3 and 4 poses works pretty fine most of the time, but since they are different figures with different rigging and shape its not a perfect match.
Generation 4 and Generation 3 morphs can be transferred to Genesis if you have GenX and the Gen3 add on. You’d also need the corresponding Iconic shapes for a perfect match.
Generation 4 textures can be used too.

For me, the best reasons to use Gen 5 would be:

    - They look better and are more detailed
    - They are weight mapped (bend better)
    - They can be mixed with all Genesis shapes and morphs.
    - They can use alternate UVs, including Generation 4’s.
    - They can use clothes and hair for Gen3 and 4 and they will fit automatically to all shapes.
    - No more INJ and REM morphs
    - They have Geografted genitals and accept other GeoGrafted addons.
    - Victoria 5 has genitals now (included in the Pro Bundle).
    - Creating items for them is much easier.
    - They are a single mesh instead of broken into pieces (custom morphs are easier to do)
    - No more individual morph packs. Only one for Genesis.

Wow - what a great response - thank you very much

I have purchase Justin and Julie - so which bundle would you recommend for Michael 5 and VIctoria 5

I have a lot of clothes, poses, etc. from Generation 3 and 4

I will look into the Iconic shapes

    Again thanks so much

There is a way to transfer morphs without Gen-X

It depends on what you need, if you want the figures mostly, then the bases are enough. The Pro Bundles have some nice clothes, hair, poses and textures, but if you have lots of them, maybe you don’t need those that much.
Of course, items made specifically for Genesis will work better than with AutoFit, but are not a must.

I’d recommend the “Genesis Michael Victoria Combo Bundle” instead. Currently on sale: $52.48 for Platinum members, $74.97 for regular members (so as you can see, if you plan on getting more DAZ originals, a membership will save you TONS of money).

It’s the price of each V5 or M5 Pro Bundle but instead of clothing and such, this one have the most useful stuff if you are starting with Genesis.

    • Michael 5
    • Victoria 5
    • Genesis Male Geo-Grafted Genitalia
    • Genesis Female Geo-Grafted Genitalia
    • Genesis Evolution: Head Morphs
    • Genesis Evolution: Body Morphs
    • Genesis Evolution: Expressions
    • Genesis Evolution: Muscularity

I have the iconic shapes and used GenX a pair of times, but with all the mixing options, I’d leave those for later so you see how much you’d need them.
