Pictures in the editing folder :-)
How to make a new uvmap for your clothing items. Yes, one can have more than one uvmap for their clothing! This is great for some items which undergo drastic morphing. The example I'm using is G2F, "heavy" morph. I've made a little top, added a couple of morphs to it.
Created 2 uvmaps for it that I'll release ... and a few mats with textures for use or guides as you please.
Again the tools I use are D/S4.6 and Hexagon.
So while I'm editing photos, if you may wish to whip up for G2F [default figure] an item such as a top [no sleeves, let's keep this simple].
In selecting G2F and morphing drastically, the top will follow 'more or less'. In selecting G2F to send over the bridge to Hexagon, one can "gently" morph the top to fit "better", then in D/S select the top. Back in Hexagon, select the new morphed top and send it alone back over the bridge to D/S and create the morph. [Morph Loader/Morphs is fine] "Reverse the shape"!!!
And of course 'save it'.
You will note that textures that look real nice on the default shape may look rather different on the morphed shape.
Hence the desire for a new uvmap!
So for those interested if you've got something done this far ... the pictures will be going from that point on.
Here's the top. DA Link
News - Joequick has some new starter meshes out for G2M :-)
Hi, I have two free Genesis female dress resale as clothing models at http://imaginative3d.com/free/
Thank you :-)
Tutorial images have been basically edited. Planning to package into a .pdf and release later on in the week.
Okay, we need to clarify a point here please.
Yes or No, can these .obj files be used to create clothing to give away free?
And more goodies from Joequick! Thank you Joequick :-)

Yes, you do what ever you want with them except offer as an obj files. You can give the clothing you create away for free or sell them.
I'll tweak the terms to reflect this.
Hope that helps

Another clothing production item has been released in the store :-)

Excellent tutorial on how to use the set is on Youtube.
A few notes I made while watching the tutorial for use in Hexagon. [tutorial refers mostly to Blender, some Zbrush]
n.b. Meshes designed for the default resolution of characters in D/S upon transferance to Hexagon, will be auto-set to the base resolution. This means you will see some poke through in Hexagon. That should clear up upon transferance back to D/S when one resets the character back to default resolution [normally 'high'].
Yes, parent the clothing to the figure if you want the figure to transfer over as well.
Excellent video tutorial. She shows some use of ZBrush and Blender. Unlike some merchant resources one apparently does not have to make drastic changes to the mesh because if one did, one would lose the uvmap.
In Hexagon if you bridge together the belt and the skirt, you will lose the uvmap.
.............
edit to add: n.b. that clothes made with this set may be used by one's self for commercial and private renders. They may also be sold [if conditions are met]. But they are NOT for freeware. Thank you for respecting this.
Starting with the boot from Joequick's set, deleting the shoe part and remaking the leg part ... adding a few indents for appearance of thickness ... Boot Socks!
The chain mail shaders make a pretty nifty "large knit" material.
Anybody else wish to show what they've been working on? Feel free to post here :-)
No need to be shy ... free to post ;-)
Have uploaded the Boot Socks and a texture for the Evening Dress.
links retired.
