Octane Renderer: Lights?

Fully prepared to file this one under the "Right Under My Nose" category, but I'm playing with the demo version of Octane and the DAZ Studio Plug-In, and I don't understand how lighting works. Is it HDRI limited? Can you not use other lights?

    Create a plane and give it a "simple light" material. DAZ lights do not get translated into Octane.

    So a mesh light. Is their influence controllable in the Octane interface like in Reality?

    In the material parameters, you can control variables like temperature and emitter power. There's also options for textured and IES lights.
