DAZ Hair in other programs (3DS Max)

I'd like to be able to use DAZ hair meshes in programs like 3DS Max, but I'm not sure how to set them up to make them look like a reasonable head of hair. Does anyone have any ideas on how to set up DAZ hair in Max so it LOOKS like hair?

The program housing the scene should not really matter, the way it looks will depend on the render engine you are using inside that program, and the method to make it look correct will vary widely depending on the render engine
If you're going through the trouble of exporting your DAZ figure to Max, why settle for non-dynamic DAZ hair? There are a few Max hair plugins as well as its native hair and fur modifiers that do an excellent job with hair. Using the mesh hair exported with your figure will give you disappointing results.
Well one reason is because I have hair styles in Daz that I actually like and want to use. I don't want to start from scratch and create a style that I already have.
What are these plugins?
Max is leaps and bounds ahead of DS in most ways. If you have access to max, you might as well start learning about it's capabilities.

Here is a tutorial using the default hair creation tools in max (think LAMH for Max)
Are you talking about the way it looks or the way it conforms and morphs? Since the tech in DS that allows everything to click together is pretty much DS specific. DS Hair is just mesh and textures, should translate the same in any modeling app like Max with a few tweaks of the materials
If you want to use DAZ assets with a professional animation platform I will strongly suggest Blender rather than Maya or Max. Apart being free there's a very good importer that also deals with hair converting them to dynamics or fibermesh as you wish.
