How to get store search to work

I'm searching the store for a product I saw a couple of days ago, Anagenesis for Genesis 3.  I start typing in the search box and get several options in the drop down, thus:

anagenesis - select this and I get just one result, Brahm for Genesis 3 Male

anagenesis 2 - returns everything with a 2 in the name

anagenesis for genesis 3 - everything for genesis 3.

and other with equally useless results.

What am I doing wrong or is it really this broken?

Getting the store search to work does somewaht depend on making sure the product name is spelled the same way as the PA spelled it  https://www.daz3d.com/n-g-s-anagenessis-2-revolution

    Here's the link: https://www.daz3d.com/n-g-s-anagenessis-for-genesis-3

it's spelled with two s, that's why the search won't turn it up.

Unfortunately, the DAZ site search engine is very crude and does not support Boolean operators, unlike most other search engines out there. For example, if you type Anagenesis 2 in most search engines, they will return results for both Anagenesis and 2 since by default they interpret the space to mean the Boolean operator "or". However, in most other search engines, if you type Anagenesis and 2, or Anagenesis + 2, they will search for both terms together, and no results for Anagenesis or 2 alone will be returned. But the DAZ search interprets everything as with the Boolean "or". That is why many will use an external engine such as Google to perform searches of the DAZ site.

  • Thanks.  As to spelling, not sure how one would anticipate that especially given Daz spells it genesis.

My two take aways: i) store search is practtically useless; and ii) Google or your preferred search engine is the solution (3rd result searching Google with the 'wrong' spelling)

Glad it's not just me, and using search engine one of the best tips ever!

Simply typed in first thing I thought of-- teacup & saucer.

Scrolling down a bit, found a little tea time 'set' $16.95 is free.   So thanks for the tip and Happy Holidays DAZ! smiley yes
