I opened studio to work on a project, but the poses tab is missing, how do i find it? or get it back?

  • Do you mean the activity tabs across the top of the screen, which give you different arrangements of the screen when clicked, or do you mean the Posing pane? If you don't have the expected tabs then that probably means you are using a different layout - load the one you usually use through Window>Workspace>Select Layout. If it's the pane, reopen it through Window>Panes(Tabs)>Posing and either drag the tab to the group you want it in or drag the top-bar to a screen edge until you get a line of hoghlight colour, then release the mouse to dock it as a new group.

On the left side, after i click either files or products, i see all products, lost and found, asseccories, anatomy, cameras, etc. There used to be a poses tab, or i thought there was one before. i thought it was under materials and before props

  • "Smart Content" decided to be stupid, it sounds like. That's part of the reason I don't use it.

What do you have selected in the scene, and is Filter By selection checked in the Smart Content pane? If the filter option is checked and you have nothing selected, or nothing that has poses, then you will see no Poses category.

  • OMG! I feel like such a dummy lol. I didn't even notice that filter by context was checked, that fixed it, thanks.

  • How do IRay one click lights work? I saw this, but does it provide proper lighting without having to set it up myself?

Maybe. It still depends on your scene. "One click lights" almost always expect the focus of your scene to be at the origin.

They will provide "proper" lighting for what the vendor thinks is proper. That may not be what you want.
