New Dolly morph for G8

https://www.daz3d.com/dolly-for-genesis-8-female

Looks really interesting, but the super-bent shins shape is kind of unnerving. i'd like the girl if not for that. Is there a way to use the character with straight legs/unwarped shin bones?

I love her that way---very stylized and flowing. I'm delighted to see something like this (have all of d.force's stuff).

    I just purchased her.
In my mind, I like how she looks.

Anyway, the fact is we can also mix her with other morphs/characters, so, perhaps one of them can "fix" the super-bented shin you didn't like.
Also, I can understand it looks no natural at all.
But.. Hey.. This characters is not existing for being a natural one, use them in curious cartoon/anime, and you're all set-up !

    Thanks @D.Master, nice character !

  • @DisparateDreamer  I really like how Dolly looks. The shin simply adds to her character. However, I'm sure that can be dialed out somehow. I'm downloading her now and I'll post a render if I can change her shins so you can decide if you still want her.

She reminds me of Mavka. I would love to see renders of her mixed to different degrees with regular G8 or other characters if anyone has them...

@DisparateDreamer  I've got a couple quick test renders of Dolly. The first one has Dolly with her full morph and then I went in and adjusted some shin settings. It doesn't look like you can dial out the shin completely as the whole body is one morph which is separate from the head morph. However, you can use the shaping controls to change the shin somewhat so that the bend isn't quite as visible if you don't like it. It would probably help if you had Shape Shift as well, but I made all changes with just the head and body morphs, I think. Anyway, Dolly on the right is straight full Dolly for comparison and Dolly on the left is modified.

Second image is Dolly on the right unmodified and Dolly on the left is the Dolly body at 50% with the full head morph.

I happen to think she's cute and I plan to have a lot of fun with her.  Any hair will need some major adjustments as her head is really big, but not a big deal.

Dolly is adorable.  I purchased her right away as soon as I saw her.  I like all the character D.Master has come out with, but Dolly is just super cute and I think I will have a lot of fun with her.

Could someone post an image of G8 with the just the Dolly head morph set?

@Crescent  Here ya go. On the left, G8F loaded up and then the head morph applied. Still has the G8F skin on her.  On the right, Dolly loaded up and the body morphs slider turned down to zero.

  • I thought I'd post a proper Dolly render.

...so is this a G8 version of the G3 Dolly over on Rendo?

Well, if anyone is interested, here I played with mixing her with other characters and decided I liked her best as a Thorne-esque toon girl. I think this mix is adorable!

The first is Dolly 25% Charlotte 100% Josie 100% (my favorite!) with eyes uncrossed, irises larger and lashes longer, curled.

    Next is G8 100% Dolly 25%

Next is Dolly 25% Charlotte 100% with eyes uncrossed, irises larger and lashes longer, curled.

Next is Dolly 25% Charlotte 100% Josie 50% with eyes uncrossed, irises larger and lashes longer, curled.

Thanks, she is adorable when added to other characters! I'm now cooking a quick/slow render on my old crappy Windows laptop with Growing Up morphs added and so cute!

So here is that same mix (Dolly 25% Charlotte 100% Josie 100% with eyes uncrossed, irises larger and lashes longer, curled) with 50% Growing Up morphs added. I think Dolly really is a great mix to the gene pool! Actually these all look very much like Thorne Aiko 3 and 4 characters--which I already own many of-- but this bends better, of course, and can actually have a child's body which was impossible with the older models and easier than GenX-ing...

OK last one. I haven't had this much fun playing just with the gene pool in a while... This is the same mix as above but 50% Dolly and 100% Growing Up morph. I think Dolly really is a doll!

@Wonderland Your renders definitely show how a bit of Dolly can really cutify a character. I'm much more tempted to buy her now! heheh :D

Yes and Josie plays a big part too, the two combined really give the Thorne doll look although I'm sure playing with the Handspan/Thorne morphs with Dolly would work well too!

  • Still having fun with Dolly. I dialed out her head to 35% and her body to 50% and dialed in a few other heads and bodies. I mixed in about three of each in varying degrees until I got something I wanted to render. She does mix well others.

VERY cool! What a wonderfully dramatic render - Nicely done, Knittingmommy! yes

And I agree, she really does mix well with others! :D

I just recently bought Josie - your high praise of her has given me a push to want to render her. :D I'll see about rendering her after I get some work done this evening.

Josie is a major quick cutifier for all characters! Personally, I like her mixed in with others, rather than by herself though. I have the Handspan/Thorne morph sets which are also great for that but just a dash of Josie in other characters can give a quick cute boost!

Thanks, @DivaMakeup! She's definitely fun to play with. :)

I'd just take a D-Former to her shins.
