Product question... Content Package Assist?

Basically does this package allow me to take a 'package' I downloaded from 'renderosity' or another website, 'package' it and throw it into the Daz installer for automatic installation with no more guess work on placement of files?

     Yes, it works well with zip files I've gotten from Renderosity. However, I'm not at all sure whether or not it will work with the occasional rar file you  may encounter.

    How about metadata?  Will we see it in Smart Content?

    Damn, that makes the package even MORE attractive.. I was just thinking about if such a thing existed while I was trying to sort my renderosity/shareCG etc archives I've yet to install.

    I do not see anywhere that states that this creates Smart Content. I looked through Novica's tutorial, and she shows that the results appear in Content Library, not Smart Content.

    In truth it would be difficult to create smart content on the fly like this, as the program would have to know something about the type of data being packaged (poses, materials etc) plus what figures it will apply to. It could guess, based on directory names, but this would rely on PA's being consistent with their naming conventions, which we know is not true.

    Hi all :) 

    I don't use Smart Content so that's why it's not included. Stormlyght said she sees hers in there, however. If I get a chance I will see if I can find a Rendo gal over in Smart Content.

    Hmmm, I wasn't able to find her in Smart Content, so the vendor would have to verify it one way or the other. I love this product, but only use Content Library.

    What's with the forums? CloudFare is working but it said host (Daz) wasn't. I've been trying for almost two hours to get back on and post!

    Anyway, I thought about it immediately, and wondered if there were vanity initials in front of the character I was looking for (and there was) and she DOES SHOW UP IN SMART CONTENT. So can't say it does for every product, but two of us have noted it is doing it for us. Hope this helps!

    Another thing with the tutorial I wrote- most of the time (Rendo products)  you do NOT need to grab an image, there is already one in the files. I just got in the habit of doing one so I wouldn't have to go back and redo it / add a photo in case the image was wrong for any reason.  It's just easy for me, when downloading the files, to right click and save the image while I'm there. (at Rendo. I have not tried this product with any other files.)

    That is great to hear.  I was thinking I was going to have to create a script to do it myself.
