OT: Sansar and Marvelous Designer

Has anybody here tried Sansar and/or Marvelous Designer? I haven't tried either but I used to spend time in Second Life a while back so I've been keeping tabs on Sansar out of curiosity. I just read an article that says Sansar will have an avatar clothing market that will be compatible with Marvelous Designer clothing. It sounds like it will use the same live dynamics system so users will be able to adjust how the clothes are worn on their avatar. It's an interesting development if you're into virtual worlds and perhaps like to create content for them.

Nice creations and renders there agent unawares. From what I've seen of MD, it looks pretty marvelous. I've been tempted to use the free trial but I don't want to get hooked because I'm not really in the market to buy the software right now.

Thanks for posting the video Mada. I may have to  check out Sansar "in person" one off these days.

  • It would be nice if I could get MD to install...

  • Wow went to the store those prices are pretty outrageous. I thought DAZ was doing something like this with "Morph 3D"?

Nah, a Sansar dollar should hover around a cent.

Nothing like this. DAZ makes their Morph3D content very difficult to modify and expand, which is the exact opposite of LL's general design philosophy. Also, this stuff is for the Sansar VR "world," a little like VR social media, while DAZ's Morph3D is for making creations in Unity. If you know anything about Second Life, Sansar is like an upgraded VR version.

EDIT: Looks like Morph3D released Artist Tools this year which should presumably make content creation easier to deal with.

When was the last time you went to the Morph3D website? They've moved the characters for Unity to the Unity Store and are doing their own version of Sansar called Ready Room.

Huh. So what does Ready Room have to do with Morph3D being nothing like Sansar and are they still locking content creation?

EDIT: Isn't Ready Room just...an avatar creator that DAZ wants to make function with as many VR environments from other companies as possible?

So that's not actually a real dollar value! that makes more sense now !

Yeah, it's an avatar creator. A "morph identity system" they're pitching to be cross-compatible with a bunch of VR simulations. See nothing about being able to create custom content.

Looks like they're sticking with the Morph3D name too. Interesting.
