Is there a way to disable shadows? to render "full-bright" scenes?

Is it possible to disable shadows in Daz3D? I'm going to render Cartoonish images, and I am not happy with the shadows being casted on my character, making him look like a 3D Model, while I wanted him to look like a regular drawing. I am using dzToon Skin shader

..if you are rendering in 3DL, yes you can just go into the light settings and turn "cast shadows" off.  Iray is a different story.

You can render diffuse only passes in Iray.

  • You could replace the environment texture with a white image. That would create a flat, almost shadowless render as light is coming from all directions.

I’ve done that for cartoon renders, but it falls apart if you are doing interiors

Edit: But Agent Unawares makes a very good point. A GREAT way of getting a traditional comic book style would be to do a Diffuse canvas in Iray. You can then do a desaturated beauty pass for any shading you want, and process it separately.

Although, admittedly, Diffuse still reads in lighting information.

I’ve been meaning to experiment more with Interactive Iray mode a bit; it’s possible one of those options will work.

    Shoot, you're right.

Okay, what you gotta do is render your scene with a diffuse canvas.

Then remove all your diffuse textures and make the diffuse exactly mid grey (0.22, 0.22, 0.22).

Render again and save the result separately so you don't overwrite the other diffuse pass.

Stack the grey diffuse pass on top of the normal scene diffuse pass and set to Divide blending mode.

    Voila, lighting gone.
