Rigging import or static mesh import?
Char model with rigging
Rigging via FBX, in any of the limited diections I've tried, has always been chancy I'm afraid. Is this something you exported yourself, and so can try different export settings, or are you using a downlaoded asset created by someone else?
Its a char model i bought that i wana render in daz. I already tried exporting from 3dmax as fbx and collada and none of them seems to work.
most things need to be rerigged in DAZ studio
the only successful FBX imports I have seen that worked in DAZ stufio were via a specific version of Poser game developer edition which I don’t have either.
Does transfer utility can be used for rigging??
to render commercialy and for personal use yes but you cannot share the rigged figure using DAZ bones even if you modelled it yourself.
You need to either rig from scratch or use a redistributable figure of which there are not many around, (there is a couple on sharecg based on makehuman)
To use the Transfer utility the thing you are trying to rig does need to match the proportions of the things you are taking the rig from.

well I bought Poser 11.1 today and you can go via that with some success
