Problems with Look at my Hair FREE Player

Bonjour,

j'ai téléchargé Look at my Hair FREE Player
je travaille avec DS 4.5.2.40 Pro, windows XP SP3 - RAM 2.50 Go

j'ai créé un tutorial - http://dchacornac.free.fr/la3d/daz45/dz45d30.htm
et http://dchacornac.free.fr/la3d/daz45/dz45d31.htm

mais presque avec tous les presets que j'ai téléchargés, je n'arrive à sauvegarder ni la scène (plantag) 1, ni exporter en OBJ, ni faire un rendu (erreur) 2

j'ai pu appliquer le preset pour Flat Top Hair à sauvegarder la scène et faire un rendu, mais impossible d'exporter en OBJ

avec DAZ Millennium Pup, si le rendu a été possible, plantage lors de la sauvegarde 1

mon ami a les mêmes problèmes : Chez moi ça plante 1 ou j'ai un message au moment du rendu 2, ça foire à chaque fois.

pour l'OBJ, j'ai suivi les instructions d'Alia et créé les dossiers
Go to documents folder, and make these folders setup: "Documents/Daz 3D/Studio/lookamyhairAM":
Inside the 'lookatmyhairAM' folder, make 3 new folders: maps, geometry, and presets.
If you want to export to object you need those folders!

que faut-il exporter : Flat Top Hair ou Genesis LAMH Group
dans tous les cas, le fichier OBJ = 0 Ko

avec les presets, on ne sait pas où télécharger les cheveux..

but with almost all the presets I downloaded, I cannot save the scene (crash) 1, or export to OBJ, or make a render 2 (error)

I could apply the preset to Flat Top Hair, save the scene and make a render, but impossible to export OBJ

with DAZ Millennium Pup, if the rendu was possible, crash when saving 1

My friend has the same problems : For me it crashes 1 or I get a message when rendered 2, it does not work every time.

    2.5 giga de RAM c'est pas des masses pour ce genre de programme, surtout pour ces nouveaux plug-in de cheveux. L'erreur Visual C++ Runtime indique d'habitude que le programme voudrait accedere a plus de memoire que disponible. Je possede un ordinateur avec 4 giga et c'est assez limite, je dois souvent reduire le nombre de cheveux, et de plus j'opère en RiCurve et non pas en Obj, ce dernier nécéssitant de plus de mémoire que RiCurve. Malheuresement un ordinateur a 64 bits avec beacoup de mémoire est a peu près une necessité.

    c'est bien ce que je pense, pas assez de mèmoire, mais c'est frustrant !!

    de plus, ça semble mieux marcher avec les cheveux qu'avec la fourrure, mais pas moyen de savoir où les trouver

    j'ai un ami qui a les mêmes problèmes, pourtant, es mieux équipé semble-t-il :
    J'ai 4 Go avec un processeur double cœur à 2.8 Ghz de fréquence.

    pas vu ce qu'est RiCurve - j'ai le plugin free, et non le plugin complet -

    this is what I think, not enough memory, but it's frustrating!

    Moreover, it seems to work better with the hair with fur, but no way to know where to find

    I have a friend who has the same problems, however, are better equipped, it seems:
    I have 4 GB with a double heart processor 2.8 GHz frequency.

    Hi Dany, what preset are you using? Also, what operations are you trying to do? Render with RenderMan curves, or exporting to OBJ? How many hairs?

    I get the same thing. I am judging the stabability/function of the player as a demo before I buy the full version. At this rate it's a no deal....I wish there was an error message at least so I could figure out what's wrong... I guess for the time being it's back to using carrara's hair tool, bah, I hate that tool.... Hair is soooo unrealistic with Carrara's hair thing...

    The DAZ installer does not create a series of folders that are necessary for some functions of the player. Please create
    the following folders:

    Documents/DAZ 3D/Studio/lookatmyhairAM
    Documents/DAZ 3D/Studio/lookatmyhairAM/presets
    Documents/DAZ 3D/Studio/lookatmyhairAM/geometry
    Documents/DAZ 3D/Studio/lookatmyhairAM/maps

    I was having trouble with the player, too. This solved it for me, but only after I created the paths and restarted DS and reapplied the preset.

    Correct. A restart of studio will be required after creating the folders. A corrective installer will be released soon.
