Suggestion for improving on Mesh Smoothing Modifier
Hey everyone! I apologize if this is posted in the wrong spot, and please let me know if so.
From what I understand the mesh smoothing modifier is still in a somewhat beta-ish state, but I find it amazingly useful and helpful.
One major downfall though that I keep running into is the inability for a mesh to set collision detection for the *interior* of an object. A situation I keep wishing for this is if I already have a collision target item (item A) for one object (item B), but would like it to check collisions on another object as well (item C). Since this isn't feasible, what would be is if I could set item C's collision target item to item B, then set it to "collide with interior" and smooth so that it fits under item B. I feel like this would create a lot of new possibilities for the mesh smoothing modifier.
Hopefully that made sense. If perhaps there is a way around this then let me know!

Makes sense and I can see where it would be quite useful. Many people use a geometry shell to collide against. I haven't tried this so I can't comment on how effective it is.
An option to reverse normals before colliding (I assume it uses normals to tell inside from outside). If you go to bugs.daz3d.com , creating an account if you haven't been before, you can make a feature request by making a bug report with the Severity set to Feature
I'll definitely check out the geometry shell technique. And thanks for the tip, I'll be sure to send a feature request in.
