My DS install of 4.10 is GONE

I was using the program, just finsihed rendering and decided to download some content that I had not downloaded yet via DIM. I closed DS and allowed DIM to download and install the products. 
After it was completed, I opened WIN 10 Start menu, and the icon for DS 4.10 was gone. I looked into the program installs and it was gone as well. 

I then opened DIM again and it had an upgrade for DAZ Studio 4.10. Not sure what happened there. 4.10 is installing right now .... 

It is now installed again and it appears to have my products in the library..will need time to check that out. It did not place the iocons back in the correct spot and place one in Start that is actually the directory for the product file installations. 

Strange things going on here.

    You may have accidentally clicked the main program under the Installed tab of DIM without realizing it. I hate when that happens.
    However, the Start Menu icon not linked correctly is odd. Are you sure you didn't rest DIM's defaults, or otherwise change where it installs?

    I doubt seriously Win 10 did a Restore on you from before DS 4.10 was installed, unless there was a reboot somewhere in there, and you're on a remotely-administrated PC, or you've got a split personality and "the other one" is doing funny stuff to your PC to undo the funny stuff it thinks you're doing to their PC.

     

    And as far as I know, DIM will install new content while DS is running. Not program updates, though.

    Same thing has happened to me today. DS Icon has disappeared from my desktop and start menu. I think it has just updated from 4.9 to 4.10 Pro 9 (Although I am not sure - 4.10 might have already been installed). I was using it today when program crashed, now I seam to have lost these program shortcuts. I can launch the program via C:\Program Files\DAZ 3D\DAZStudio4. However now the interface is all messed up. Everything is white and I have no icons. I don't know how to fix this. Can I click 'Restore Factory Settings' to fix this, I am worried that I will loose my content when I do this? I have uploaded a screenshot for reference. Any help to restore my program settings and interface will be appreciated.

    That probably means DS was still open when you installed the new version. Make sure DS is closed (check Task Manager), then uninstall and reinstall.

    Thank you Richard for your prompt answer. DAZ Studio has just appeared in my Install manager as "ready to install" which wasn't there when I posted earlier. It has now reinstalled itself and everything appears to be as it was before. Thank you again.

    strange things ... but it appears all is working again. I deleted the directory start icon and pinned the DS 4.10 to my start menu... 
    It just leaves me in the wondering state . hmmmmmmmmmmmmm
    its always something
