How Do I Zero Out a Light Preset?

If I load a scene that was previously saved with a light preset (for example, one of FWSA's Soft Light Probes), how do I remove that lighting effect and go back to no effect at all so I can experiment with another light preset? It seems like applying different presets seems to stack them rather than replace one with another.

    If they add things to the scene (lights on props that are light emitters), delete them. If they are Render Settings loading an HDRI then try clicking the Defaults button (I can't recall if that clears the HDRI back to the ruins image, but HDRIs won't stack anyway).

    Click Default in the Render Settings?

    In the Editor tab of Render Settings, at top-right, theer should be a button labelled Defaults.
