Saving Prop Asset

Okay, one more time...

I have an object I want to save as a prop. And it contains two separate objects, a bottle and a cap. So I know to save a single object as a Figure/Prop asset, but how do I save a multiple object asset?

Thanks.

Make it a single prop by exporting/importing as .obj? Save as scene subset?

I tried as a scene subset, but the bottle came in totally squished on the up/down axis. Weird. But then I save them individually as figure/prop assets it works fine.

Whatever....I'll just save them individually. Annoying.

They really need to fix these little annoyances before moving on to big stuff.

Thanks Richard. I just tried that, and here's what I got...

The first image is from saving them individually and re-loading into the scene. The second is saving as a Scene Asset. The bottle comes in as a box. Weird.

By the way, again I'm very impressed at D|S for its shaders and everything else. That bottle I did from scratch in Blender, and just applied the stock glass and metal shaders, with minor tweaks, and they came our real well.

  • Did you get a missing geometry message when loading the scene back in?

Not that I know of. But yeah, it looks like the stand-in cube you get when something's missing. In any case I've since erased the offenders, so I'll just get by with the separate prop assets. Thanks.

    Looks really nice!
