I have been trying to use https://www.daz3d.com/render-studio-iray Render Studio Iray, and the specular light does not seem to work. Not sure why , but there is no specular on the figure's eyes at all ... I tried placing the character in default, and nothing. or with differrent poses. I swung the light to the side the eyes were on, and still nothing.
any idea?

an image ... no specular.

I never followed up on his download to fix spec eye light because I think the file is on FB and not on social media. Had forgotten about it, so will be following this one.
From my notes: Colm's suggestions to 'improve' his light
---
IRay uber base if converting G3
Cornea to 100 as needed.
set Light Geo to disk
set Height/Width to 100
set Lumen to 3,000
Point light @ eye or Head ; position to the light to suit your scene
---
Anyone pick up the download?

Notes say he starts talking about it at 3:18 mark
thank you so very much .. i just downloaded the file ..and will give it a try soon. thanks again it is in the text from the above video btw ... link to one of those not able to be linked to here..i think
I thought it was clickable resource in DS. Guess not!
When you have time, can you copy & paste his text for the light's manual settings? Am not sure about my notes. : )
thanks

i dont see any test for it ... also, my lack of knowledge about DS file structure..i can't figure out where to paste the file. my directory and his are totally different. and it is not showing up in the content directory. not sure if its possible to read the file directly..it should be able to...will mess around abit, althought Colm streesed not shaqring the file but to dl from the youtube page.
Cool. Was just curious about it. Guess if I really want to find out, will have to ask a friend to log onto FB. : )
Enjoy new years!
your recipe above is right on..that is what it is ... the file just auto sets it to those values. except you have to manually point the light to the head or eyes each and every time. Colm talks about that in the video. I am using that recipe as I can't figure out what happened to the file or where to copy it to. No big deal as its a quick fix.
One thing, I forgot to use that uber base and the specular still worked, so not sure about that, and I was using a G3 character. I don;t know enough about DS to know why or what.
