HI I have a1070 and a1079 ti if I install both will rendering be faster than just 1070 ti
I understand with 2cards installed pci e will run at 2x 8 not 16
Comments
Almost certainly - the interface speed is relevant only when sending the 3D data to the card, which is a very minor part of the process. The communication during the render operation is little enough for bus speed to be pretty insignificant.
Thanks for your responc I will instal both of them

I teststed if there is a difference from 16x pcie to 8x pcie on Nvidia 1080ti cards.
There was no slodown at all
Thanks you for responding i agree I tested also no slowdown
Most cards barely use 8x transfer speeds, when playing games.
Transfer speeds only matter for filling the card with data. (Images, code, settings and feedback for letting software know the "state" of the cards.)
It will matter when you start to hit the maximum VRAM values and do constant loading. (Large scenes with animations, with scripted rendering, which are not all using the same data.)
EG... It will almost never be an issue. The cards will run as low as 1x PCIe, if needed.
Thanks JD_Mortal for your input all responses ar helpful
