Hello !!
i am trying to make a "shiny ball" something that looks like metal or something like that, i would like it to be very glossy
i created the sphere then i did windows/panes/surface
and when the ball was selected i selected "glossy metalic" in the lighting model and i put the glossiness at 100%
when i did a render it looked exacly like the other objects in the scene, it didn't looks more shiny at all
what should i do to get this effect?
thank you very much for your help !

If you are using Iray, which is the default, then I'd suggest looking at some of the sample shaders in the Presets tab Shaders>Iray. When you do use the Daz Default Shader, which is a 3Delight shader, note that 100% Glossiness is infinitely smooth, so any highlights (reflections of light sources or bright elements) will be extremely small - for point sources (spot or point lights without a shape assigned) the highlights would be points, which means they'd effectively be invisible.
Thank you for your reply i'll check what you said !
and do you think it's worthy to buy those kind of shader or can i get the same effect for free ? https://www.daz3d.com/real-metals-for-daz-studio https://www.daz3d.com/refracted-iray-glass-presets
At least test the free shaders that come with DS first, then you can decide if you need to get the store product.
thank you for your advice and your very fast reply i'll try it !! :D
