Daz Studio 4.6 Repeatable Crash Bug

I create a Genesis figure. I go to Pose and select the head of the genesis figure. I select the "wheel" by "Bend", and then from the menu I select Parameter Settings. This then crashes Daz Studio 4.6.0.18 64 bit every time (well about 8 times in a row). If I do this with "Twist" it doesn't crash, just the head bend parameter settings. It crashes before the parameter settings window opens. I am running Win8 64 bit. Rebooting the computer, doesn't fix the problem.

Filing a bug report is the best way to deal with it. Check the Official DS 4,6 release thread for detaills.

Not crashing here on Windows 7 64. is it only ythe one slider that does this?

Yes, other sliders haven't been a problem, although I haven't checked them all. It only seems to be Bend parameter on the Head. I wanted to bend the head down more than 20, and when I try to open the Parameter Settings to change the limit, the program crashes. I rebooted and started with a blank scene with just a single Genesis model, and it still crashes every time I do it.

    Hi...

Yes, I can confirm that I get the same App crash on Windows 8 64 bit when trying to open the Parameter Settings on the Bend parameter of the Head node...

Same App crash occurs in the Property Editor if you try to select any bone node in the Hirearchy field...

This seems to cause a Windows crash of the App... no crash entry is made to the DS log file... the Windows crash details list a Qt module at fault for the crash...

Now I just need to remember my bug tracker account login...

    nicci... :)

Well, this and other bug topic certainly don't make the upgrade enticing. Which is a shame because I REALLY want that SSS shader...

Too bad you can't have two versions or copies of DAZ installed to different parts of the comp at the same time...

Edit: Oh, wait, this is a Windows 8-only bug? I wonder about the other ones *scurries off to the other bug threads*

It's working fine for me in Windows 7, 64-bit, as well. That's a REALLY odd glitch. What in the world would cause THAT?

    Seems fairly clear from 4 sources now (2 Win8, 2 Win7) that it's a problem on Win8 systems, not on Win7 systems.

Which version of Genesis Starter Essentials did you install?

I uninstalled the old Genesis Starter Essentials using DIM before installing 4.6. I deleted GSE using DIM. After installing 4.6 I used DIM to download and install GSE.

I did not uninstall 4.5, as I was assured that installing 4.6 would take care of that.

I don't think the problem is isolated to Windows 8. I'm running Windows 7/64 and regardless whether it's V4, or the Genesis figures anytime I try to opening the Parameter Setting on either "Thigh" DAZ hangs for about 8 seconds and then crashes. It doesn't happen with any other body part. I wonder if this is unique to the 4.6x release. Never had this issues with 4.5x

Win 7 64bit, no issues in neither the release nor the latest beta.

Win 7 64 bit, Zero errors on Genesis G2F G2M or V4. I have my Parameters Pane docked and open at all times. It might be behind another pane but I never close it. Wonder if that could be a temp fix. Open it dock it and never close it.

The OP means the parameter settings dialog you open to turn off limits, etc. Not the main parameters pane.

I tested that as well. My system is still stable. I do know that not all layouts KEEP the Main Parameter pane open. Or that all users might either, was why I mentioned I keep it open as a JUST in case thing. I'm not a Fan of the ROOM layout in some Styles I've seen. Was just a maybe it could Help thing... you never know.

I didn't think anyone actually closed the thing. Probably why I never think to test floating vs docked. lol
