Select a skeleton item from the scene: export problem

Hi All,

I haven't used DAZ in over 5 years. Using Windows 10-64bit.

1) I load my content, e.g. "Spaceship Crew Room"

2) I select an item (or Select all)

3) I go: File>Export and select Poser .cr2 type.

4) I choose a runtime location (doesn't matter which location I choose, always the same result)

5) "CR2 Export Options" window opens. I choose Base and Collect Files in the runtime.

6) Then a window pops up saying "Select a skeleton item from the scene" with accept and cancel buttons. There is nothing else in the window, nothing to select.

7) Clicking Accept or Cancel both has the same results, a message saying:

2018-01-07 16:37:40.001 File exported in: 1.82 sec (82877.8 ms)
2018-01-07 16:37:40.001 Failed to export: Z:\Poser-Runtimes\Buildings-SciFi\Runtime\dd.cr2 (Note, this path can be any location and I get the same result)
2018-01-07 16:37:40.001 Operation failed

Firstly what am I doing wrong, and secondly what is a "skeleton item"?

Thanks.

  • You're trying to export a non-character scene item (i.e. a prop) as a Poser Character format. Pick a different format.

In other words, I'm a bloody idiot... I don't even drink, so I can't blame it on that. Maybe I need more sleep?

.obj exported fine, just need to play with jpg/materials to get them included properly.

    Thanks Dr!

Are you trying to export it for use in Poser? There is a Poser file for Stonemason's Sci-Fi Crew Quarters, if that's the item in question.

EDIT: Nevermind. I was thinking Stonemason's SciFi Bedroom. They're kinda similar.

Spaceship Crew Room by Perspectix does have a DSON importer for Poser though.

Yes, it's like an updated version of Stonemason's.

DSON importer has never worked for me, it looks like it works, but nothing is actually imported. Multiple re-installs, different hard-drives, registry purge, never works. Doesn't matter if I try to use the real stuff, or try to create my own poser files, it never works. Must be something burried somewhere back from Poser2014 when I played with importing Genesis1&2 characters, that is just sitting somewhere in my registry or something.

Thanks for going the extra mile, I apprecitate it.

  • Sometimes the DSON importer brings things in with the transparency cranked to max. They're there, but they're invisible. Took me a while to figure that out. You can select them and delete them, but you can't see them.
