How can I quickly remove files from a Smart Content category?

Lately, I've been reassigning a lot of my stuff to new/different categories within Smart Content, but it's been slow going.  I learned pretty quickly you can ADD an item simply by dragging and dropping a file from one category to another.  But to REMOVE a file it's a big hassle. You have to go to the Content library and find the Product that contains your file. Then you have to bring up the Content DB Editor and change the Root Category for the file in question.  I have a lot of stuff so this is taking quite a while. So my question is: Is there some shortcut I've missed for removing files from Smart Content categories?
