Easiest way would be using a flash drive if you have one large enough to fit it all. Next easiest way would probably transfering through local network if you have a router. If you can solve that first problem of moving the content, if you put it in the default spot on the new computer, it should work. Only big issue would be if you are moving from a 32bit to 64bit system, or using another OS(OSX to windows).

If you know where your files are you could just copy the folder to a backup. Install DS on the new PC and then copy the files back and you should be fine. It is what I did in march when I got a new PC and there wasn't an issue. Then again, I don't use DIM, Connect or smart content.

By default your DAZ content goes here ‪C:\Users\*****\Documents\DAZ 3D. I just save that folder to an external and do a fresh install of DS on the new PC. Then replace the new, almost empty DAZ 3D folder with the one you saved. you might have to correct some paths if you have any content, mesh or textures outside of the DAZ 3D folder within DS, but that is an easy fix.

  • Remove the hard drive with Windows 10 and replace it with the Windows 8 laptop hard drive. Format the Windows 10 hard drive to make it a storage drive.

There have been *several* threads discussing this in the last few weeks. Look back through a couple of pages and you will find a wealth of relevant info.

  • If you follow what FSMCDesigns said and you are using the DAZ Install Manager, you may also want to move the manifest files so that DIM doesn't think you haven't installed the files. For myself it is located at C:\Users\Public\Documents\DAZ 3D\InstallManager\ManifestFiles

I am not sure with the smart content or things like that whether it would take care of that automatically if you copy the files though, so that may not be needed.
