I don't know what you're referring to - and I'm probably not the only one. If you will provide a link or two to so that we can see what you're meaning, it would be helpful. :)

OK, the closest I've seen to the Walt Disney World version of Tinkerbell that shows up in an image search for Tinkerbell most often is the new Sakura 8 Eyes by 3D Outlaw in the DAZ Store:

It looks like the iris might need to be scaled smaller and iris color changed but it looks very close to my eyes. It is a new products from 2 weeks ago so maybe you haven't seen it?

I have to use the librarian updo hair - it's really good. g3f works amazingly well for making images to carve into wood and as art.  I'm building a model ship in "her" size and really need a good faceto carve 7.5" tall statues. (her "real" life size is 5").

I always thought Willow by 3DUniverse loooked like Tinkerbell, but it's a matter of opinion, as she has changed her look over the years.  You can transfer that G2F character morph to G3F and use it, perhaps?

It was a fun challenge!  cheeky

I don't know which hair was used in the pic but I always thought that Gwenith Hair made a good Tink updo (with the long bangs hidden).

is it possible to have a tinker bell that is not the Disney version?  ‭basically the question is where does Peter Pan stories land? Is it safe to use Peter Pan and Tinker Bell in the same way that little mermaid, beauty and beast and other old fairy tales or is it too new?

edit basically asking is it public domain or what?  I know that the Disney look is trademarked to Disney

    Quote:

Fortunately for GOSH, the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act of 1988 remained in effect. As a result, the hospital is still entitled to royalties for uses of Peter Pan in the country. However, these rights have several key limitations:

    1. Only Within the UK: The U.S. and rest of EU do not follow these rules, meaning no such royalties are owed unless the work is not in public domain.
    2. Royalties Only: The provision only allows the hospital to collect royalties, not to grant permission for uses.[...]
    3. Not for Little White Bird: Finally, Little White Bird, the first appearance of the characters, is not covered. Just the play and the novelization.

    And http://neverpedia.com/pan/Ownership_of_the_Peter_Pan_works

Please note that the copyright protection is different for different countries, i.e. in the US, the stage play is still copyright protected until 2023.

They look a lot like Star 2.0 eyes. A morphed Star might make a good Tinkerbelle.

Rendering a heavily shaped vesion I made using Giselle dress and some fairy wings for g2f... and librarian hair.  Gonna make a great figure.

Disney look for those non-Mickey/Minnie/Donald/Daisy and so on, is also pretty much copied straight from old illustrations that are public domain when you are talking about Peter Pan, Wizard of Oz, Alice in Wonderland and so on, so no, the look isn't something that can be copyrighted. Just find those old illustrations they copied and do your own take on them would be the more interesting and fun approach.
