Is anybody else having trouble with G1 clothes exploding on G8?

This has happened to me with two separate outfits.  They load just fine, and I saved my outfitted character as a scene subset.  When I open it up again, parts of the outfit have exploded.  I've even deleted it and reloaded it, but as I move the perspective, it explodes again.  It's happened with these two outfits.

Any suggestions on how to overcome this and stabilize the outfits?

Once I get the item fitted, I usually save as a wearable preset. Have you tried that? :)

Turn off the smoothing on the garment. Chances are that is the culprit.

While I have used wearable presets in the past, I tend to prefer scene subsets as I can load the complete character wtih hair, jewelry, props, etc.  Several steps all loaded into one.

Those "several steps" are sometimes important to keep separate, though. If you autofit clothes from one figure generation to another, then save as a scene subset, you are not saving the new clothes model properly. Saving a converted object as a Wearable Preset or (preferably) as a Figure or Prop Asset means the new files are saved properly into the /data/ folder, and you have a new loadable clothes item which can then be added to any other figure in any future scene you create.

If all you do is save a scene subset, then all you have are those converted items in that scene — if you want to have them in another scene, you'll have to convert them all over again, and again you'll only have them in that scene.
