Surreality EXP and Script products?

With Pro 2014 now happily on my PC, I've decided that, instead of just copying all my old Poser base runtime data into the new one, I'm going to start fresh, which means re-installing any characters with EXP data and/or python scripts. I've installed all the Gen 4 people and the Subdragon with all morphs, but then I remembered that more than a few Surreality figures use EXP and/or python scripts. Anyone have a list handy of which products those might be? I have a separate V4 runtime with them all installed, but EXP and pythons need to be installed in the main directory.

Help?

IIRC, the Gen 4 moprh injections are ExP. You need to install the V4 base first and if the products use the Morphs++ package, you need to install that before anything else.

It is always a good idea to runt the dos bat to intialize the morphs after you install them.

Even if you are installing a product to an external runtime, python scripts need to be installed to the main Poser runtime. Also check to make sure you have the correct version of the Python scripts. This is important if the python script is compiled (pyc). Changes in python between P7, P8/Pro 2012, and P9/Pro2012 required changes to scripts between those versions. I don't believe there are any major changes between P9/Pro2012 and P10/Pro2014 but I have seen threads that report some python scripts are not functioning in the new version.

It may take a couple of days or more to sort out. If you find any that aren't working, you should let the vendor know.

Yes, I know, and I did all that -- Installed all Gen 4 people and their morphs. Subdragon, too. All are initialized.

I'm specifically wondering which Surreality products use EXP data. Some of the character morphs are EXP -- I remember because I had to install them into my base runtime the first time. I think at least one has python scripts, too...

Lol, I've been a Poser user since P6. I know WHAT to install in the base runtime, I just don't know WHICH products (outisde main Gen 4 and Subdragon) characters use EXP.

I did all that when I went from P8 to Pro2012. Python scripts that work in P9/Pro2012 should work fine in Pro 2014.

A couple of Netherworks scripts are not working.

You might want to ask the vendor for a list.

ExP morphs only have to be installed in the internal runtime in Poser versions before P7sr3. They still must be installed in the same runtime as the base figure.

Yes -- but all my base figures are (and have always been) installed in my main Poser runtime. This is the problem with having copied all runtime data from one Poser install to the next since P6. I've always used the pre P7sr3 "rules," because that's where I started. It was easier to just copy and paste old data into the new folder. (Who wanted to re-download and re-install thirty or more installer files manually??) However, with the DIM, installing all the figures is SO much easier. I figured this install would be a good place to start fresh, as the old runtime was getting very cluttered.

Also worth noting... another shortcut I've taken over the years (since there is no powerloader in Poser) is to inject my base figure with ALL morphs and save it to the runtime as a separate character. This way, I don't have to think about which morphs I want injected -- they're all there. Every time a new base morph package/update was released, I'd just delete the old "morphed" figure and replace it with a new one that had the new changes in it. So I've always had an updated, ready-to-use figure saved at all times, no thought required.

SO... back to the original problem... My V4 runtime has only clothing/hair/morphs, etc. Even if I install the V4 base character and morphs into this runtime, I probably did NOT install the Surreality EXP files to the V4 runtime at the time these figures were released. Back then, DAZ released separate installers for the EXP files and the rest of the stuff. Ergo, I would install the EXP stuff into the main runtime and everything else in the V4 runtime.

The point, I suppose, is that my OLD base runtime had V4 and ALL her EXP morphs in the base runtime. I would have installed them there and nowhere else. Hence, I need to know WHICH products to reinstall. Once I know which ones I need, I can decide whether to keep everything in the base runtime, or install it elsewhere.

Ack. This is complicated to explain. But I know what I NEED to know, I just don't know it... Lol.

The list I've compiled so far is:
    Modern Muses Echo (python)
    Warrior Maiden Eth (EXP)
    SG Steam Queens (EXP)
    Modern Muses Fatima (EXP)
    Otherworldly Wonders Fog (EXP)
    Otherworldly Wonders Equinox (EXP)
    Otherworldly Wonders Calyx (EXP)
And I think Otherworldly Wonders Tanwen

If anyone spots something I've missed, I would be very thankful to have them pointed out.

NOW I've got a newbie question... what is an EXP CF? Is this what needs to be installed wherever the base figure is?

I don't recall seeing that particular description, but if there's a split into EXP, DS, and PS versions, the latter two are just the mats, the EXP would be the morphs that are needed for both programs.

I think you must be right. Many of Surreality's products weren't supported in DS because of shader issues. So, for example, with "Otherworldly Wonders - Tanwen," there's a main file and then a "Tanwen ExpCF" file. I'll assume the first file is the poser mats/etc. and the EXP is the morphs.
