The downloads are still intermitently too slow. I'm now on my third attempt to download the new studio 4.5 RC and it just hangs on 'getting file information' - your servers are too slow! Can you please get this fixed. I am fed up with trying to download content from your webiste only to find I can't because you haven't fixed the issues yet. I only hope I can reset the download and get my four attempts back, as one more try and they'll be used up.

Everything I've downloaded from the new site including DS 4.5 has downloaded in a matter of seconds. I'd suspect its your ISP. I just downloaded 6 products yesterday and it took less than a minute downloading all at once.
I practically can't log in on the store with Opera. I can get in the store with IE and download purchases, but it somehow refuses to download the DS RC2. :-S
I am using FireFox, have an old PC and am in an area where the broadband speed is very slow.(1mb max, and that's on a good day), and yet I am having no problems with downloading from the site.
Since the new store launched my downloads have been quite fast (for me)
Pretty fast for me too, but the old site was faster - up to 16 Mbit. Rarely gets beyond 8 Mbit now.
I'm on rural DSL, wish I had a meg of band width lol The only problem I am having since I upgraded to the latest firefox is DAZ downloads are bandwidth hogs, and don't like to share. studio 4.5 took about half an hour for me to download. The last freebie I downloaded took a few minutes; still can't install them though. {Old subject I am adamant about, so leave it be}

All due respect, but I did say " intermitently ". When it works it's fine. But several times the downloads just don;t respond. And, I'm IT savy enough to try other downlaods and sites which work fine at the time. I really don;t think this is my ISP. Are any maintenance routines running outside of US hours? (I'm based in the UK)?
traceroute is your friend. It will tell you if a specific link between you and a specific destination is acting slow in general. It will not, however, take into account sites using QOS to prioritize packets along the way. If you have a node between you and DAZ that is heavy on the Video Streaming demand, then the packets for http/ftp can be delayed.

I've exact the same problem, I've reset my downloads a few times already, tryed to download 10 times but get no further then the 'getting file information' pop-up window. I do many downloads on several other sites and never have that problem. I've decided now to wait until 1 January 2013 in the early morning. People are celebrating NewYear then, so the 'DAZ-servers' will be a bit faster maybe that moment (I hope) to get my download.
I am in the UK, and as I believe I said I am in an area which does not have high speed broadband, and yet I have had no problems whatsoever with downloading from Daz.
studio 4.5 was a zip so I had it on my Android (not to install ofcourse :red: just downloaded) in about 10mins!
I quite regualry have to reset downloads, on the old site too, as things can get to 90% and still cannot be downloaded
but that is my crap 3G internet :red:
at times I wish the burn to CD option was still available.
Well. I'll keep an open mind about this, but I do test my download speed when I have these DAZ issues and it happily reports 8mb (magabits) which is my normal download rate. And in addition, it's not a slow download, it's the webiste which isn;t responding during the download process.

I've found that since the new site went up my download speeds dropped to a third of what they were for the old site. I've tried downloading at different times of the day but it is always much slower.
Right then. After further investigation, it would appear that for some reason, none of the .zip downlaods are working for me from the DAZ site. All the .exe files are downloading immedeately - the .zips timeout. Any ideas?
You could try this one:

Have you tried using a different browser, such as Firefox or Chrome? You don't have to make it your default browser if you generally prefer IE, but the zip downloads do seem to be problematic with IE at the moment (which is, of course, something that DAZ needs to investigate and fix - but using an alternative browser may be a short-term fix).
Okay, Chrome did the job and I've got the download, thanks Richard.
It seems that Daz servers are closing the connection:

It's like watching paint dry, the Daz software is amazing but I've just paid $124 dollars to download some content, it's not major (no more than 200mb) and it is taking forever. This is definitely a server issue as far as I can see, I can normally download that amount of data in a few minutes. This is looking like it will take two hours at least. These guys have an amazing product but they seriously need to sort out these issues.
For a short bit of time even the forum pages were taking 'forever' to load ... these days normally indicative of a very busy store!
Resetting the modem, clearing the cache, using FF, when the system is back to normal ... downloads work fine.
