I have a bunch of Gen 4 and gen 3 clothing. Is there anyway I can save converted clothes to Genesis and have it appear in the Genesis smart library clothing? That way there will be more clothing in the smart library for Genesis.

Or do I have to convert it every time I want to use that outfit??

If the converted clothing is saved correctly, it should show on the Smart Content>Files tab.
As an example, here are the steps I followed to convert the Hiro 4 Toon Golf Shirt from 3DU:

    1. Auto-fitted the Golf Shirt to Genesis, it converted perfectly.
    2. With the Shirt Selected: File>Save As>Support Asset>Figure/Prop Assets
    3. In the Filtered Save dialog box, selected a folder in People>Genesis>Clothing and named it Golf Shirt
    4. On the Figure/Prop Assets Save Options Screen

    Set Content Type: Follower>Wardrobe>Shirt
Set Category: Enable the Check box and set to Default>Wardrobe>Shirts

These two items are very important. If the Category is not set, it will fail to show up on the Smart Content>Files tab.

The defaults on the rest of the options should be fine. Click the Accept button.

    To Test:

With Genesis selected, Go to Smart Content>Files tab. Search for the clothing name or as in this example, go to Default>Wardrobe>Shirts and it's shown circled in the image below. Note: I hide Genesis so it doesn't show up when the file icon is generated.
