Tail for Horse2 is awful

I really like the Horse2 with its extra poses. great textures, etc. But the tail is an abomination. Even with proper materials applied and tweaks with posing it looks like a bundle of wires. It was MUCH better with the original horse model. Anyone else running into this and if so has any ideals to make the tail more realistic?

    Believe it or not, there are stand alone tails for people that look really good. Some of them are on sites that cater to the fetish crowd. Let me know if you want more details.
