We Brycers hasve suffered long enough. I bought a 64 bit maschine with 6 gig of memory thinking I could pack a hslf dozen people into one scene,,, that I'd had the full range of memory open to expand my projects. Nope, Bryce is and has been a primitive 32 bit application and even with the bells and whistles in Bryce 7 detract from usuable memory rerminiscent of pre-Bryce 6 editions.Aside from HDRI and more lighting options, it'd dtill incredibly slow to render. So when is Bryce going to enter the 21st centure and become a power application.

Um, never. Daz has already said that it's the end of the line for both Bryce and Hexagon. They're no longer being developed.
THAT IS SIMPLY NOT TRUE
Daz3D has explained that at the moment Bryce and Hex are not in the Current Dev Cycle, Which is concentrating on Carrarra and DS
Once that Development draws to an end then the other apps will come back into the Dev Cycle.
It would be nice of them to get the Mac version of Bryce 7 Pro working under Lion first....
I think what they've said is that they are not currently being developed, rather than that they never will be again.
That is also dependant upon Bryce coming back into the dev cycle. The specialised mac developer for Bryce was a contractor, and his contract ended shortly after the last Bryce dev cycle did, and that was unfortunately beofre OS X Lion awas released.
Apologies. I've obviously mis-remembered what Daz said they wanted to do, and mistaken it for what's likely to happen.
