Thank you for the comment and for your kind words. I agree about inconsistent sketch lines. It's a result of Akvis Sketch filter. Akvis Neon gives more pleasure result, but not always exactly what desired.
I'm a fan of Akvis Sketch! You're getting pretty good results.
One reason I used Akvis Sketch was that I wanted solid sketch renders out of Daz Studio. So I actually shrank the image before applying Akvis. For instance, if I needed a 2000px wide image for the printed version, I shrank the image down to about 800px wide, ran Akvis and then, when finished, enlarged the image back to 2000px. This made the sketch strokes very visible and prominent, which is the look I was going for.
I also did the background separate from the foreground. This let me get a wilder, more free look to the background.
The monsters wanted to get in on the action. I don't think Gladys is happy with that...
Poor Abner. All he wanted was a quiet retirement.
I often thought that he and Mr. Wilson (who lived next to that Dennis Mitchell brat) could have enjoyed each other's company. The two would share about 12 words and then spent the rest of the day reading their respective newspapers in silence.
Hope the Mitchell brat ain't your sister's kid.
Looks nice, but the software is pretty expensive.
Just wonder, if Akvis is used by 6R in his own thread,
where he does not want to reveal details about, how he is doing the postwork.
Interesting layout and word balloons. I also like the colors. That one panel where you chop her off at the neck puzzles me, though. The general rule is not to crop people directly on a joint because it makes them look amputated. Other than that, though, this is pretty darned good.
Agreed. Akvis is very expensive. I sprung for the entire commercial license so I could use it in my RPG illustration work. Truthfully, I paid more for it than the value I'm receiving from it. But that's mostly my fault, as I'm not putting in the work with the program. I've just been doing so many other projects that Akvis just hasn't come up in my workflow (although that is about to change; I've got to use Daz Studio for a cover design (I need certain Genesis and Genesis 2 figures) and I'll need to generate some sketches for the editor).
Yeah, 6R is VERY mum about his process. That just goes against my nature, to be honest. I'm an open book as to how I do things. I want to share with others and, in turn, am thankful that others feel the same way.
This looks very nice. If you are doing any hand inking, I would suggest using thinner lines on the hair. Other than that, this is very nice looking.
There was always a bar scene...
Finding your own style is a journey not an end! I'm still working on mine!
Funny stuff! I loved the bar scenes. A few thoughts:
Sorry to be critical, but your work is too good to have the humor diluted by things that are very easy to fix!
Keep 'em coming!
Looks good. Nice work with the different skin tones. Your hair still needs some work, though. And that's not surprising, as almost everyone who does NPR has trouble with the hair. You also seem to have a few random white spots that aren't really working as highlights (they are so small and oddly placed that they seem more like artifacts than highlights). Nevertheless, you seem to be on a good path as I'm seeing consistency with your lines and colors. Keep up the good work.
My Avatar Korra image (made with Sakura 8) got a mention over at Renderosity: https://www.renderosity.com/gallery-of-the-week-for-nov-4-2019---anime-manga-gallery-cms-21981
Congratulations. Wouldn't be surprised if you were headed for another "Artist of the Month" nomination over there!
Finally started working on my next cover for the SF RPG cover. This is the rough sketch I sent to the editor to see what he thinks of the general direction I'm thinking of pursuing. I think this one needs a lot of work, but it's a start.
It's a good start.
This one is unique compared to my other images. I used a 3D model as a guide, but it was drawn and painted by hand using Clip Paint Studio (Desktop), Procreate (iPad Pro), and Photoshop (Desktop).
Checking out Jeannie's updated decor...
"Ahoy there maties, 'tis Pirate Mavka in the good ship Poser"...
To see larger, right-click, "open in new...".
Looks great. Have not used Poser for a long time...

I use Poser a lot for my work, and this is very nice. However, I'm puzzled by the way your Comic Book render appears. It looks more like the Toon render than the Comic Book. I'm not 100% sure whay I think something is out of place, but it looks a little more like the lines are following the materials than the geometry. On the other hand, I look at the hand and can clearly see this is not the case.
Would you mind telling me what settings you have selected in the Comic Book preview?
The different approach really paid off. Looks outstanding on so many levels.
